Legacy Enlistment at Fort McCoy
Maj. Gen. Kevin Meisler conducted his first Oath of Enlistment as commanding general of the 88th Readiness Division on Sept. 30, 2026. James Todryk of Sparta, Wis., raised his right and proclaimed, “I…do solemnly swear…”
Todryk is the son of Army Veterans, Michelle and Michael, and his sister, Alice, currently serves in the U.S. Army Reserve. Michael served with the 88th Readiness Division during his career, which is what made the opportunity for James to enlist with Maj. Gen. Meisler that much more meaningful.
After graduating from Sparta High School in 2027, Todryk will attend basic training, followed by advanced individual training to become a combat engineer.
After completing the oath, Meisler presented Todryk with an 88th RD ‘Blue Devils’ challenge coin, explaining the historic nickname of the Division and welcomed him to the U.S. Army Reserve. Todryk was then congratulated by members of his family and recruiters from the Fort McCoy Recruiting Company.
Welcome to the U.S. Army Reserve!
