Edelman Financial Engines Appoints Ralph Haberli as President

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 09, 2025 /BUSINESS WIRE/ --

Edelman Financial Engines (EFE), the nation’s leading independent wealth planning1 and workplace2 investment advisory firm, today announced the appointment of Ralph Haberli as President, effective July 2, 2025. He will report directly to CEO Jay Shah.

Haberli brings expertise in the workplace ecosystem and a strong track record of building partnerships across the wealth planning landscape. He also has a unique understanding of how RIAs operate, grow and serve the needs of their planners and, most importantly, their clients.

“For nearly forty years, Edelman Financial Engines has guided millions of people with the financial advice they need to thrive,” said Shah. “Ralph is a rare talent with deep knowledge and insight of both workplace and wealth planning. As we enter our next phase of growth, his leadership will be key to delivering even greater value to our clients, partners, and planners. We’re thrilled to welcome him aboard.”

In his new role, Haberli will lead EFE’s workplace, employee planning, and wealth planning businesses. He will focus on enhancing the firm’s workplace offering, expanding advisor capabilities, and strengthening its national footprint. His extensive background in retirement—including working with recordkeepers, plan sponsors, advisers and consultants—will be especially valuable to the more than 600 large employers and 10 million employees EFE serves.

“Edelman Financial Engines set the bar for integrity, innovation, and impact as pioneers in financial planning,” said Haberli. “I’m excited to join this exceptional team and help shape the financial outcomes of millions of Americans.”

Haberli most recently served as President of the Institutional & Retirement Client Group at Capital Group, where he led a period of significant growth to bring the firm to a broader set of clients with an expanded set of capabilities and solutions. Prior to that, he held senior roles at BlackRock, including Head of U.S. Defined Contribution Distribution and COO of the Global Client Group. He also led strategy for Asia-Pacific iShares and began his career at Boston Consulting Group advising top financial institutions.

He holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a B.A. in History from Yale University.
