Chinese Consul General in New York Chen Li Attends “Youth, Dialogue, Future — China-U.S. Youth Choral Concert”
On October 8, the “Youth, Dialogue, Future — China-U.S. Youth Choral Concert” was held at the Consulate General of China in New York. The Guangdong Experimental High School Choir, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, and young musicians from the Lang Lang International Music Foundation performed together. Around 200 guests from various sectors and young students attended the event.

In his remarks, Consul General Chen Li said that the friendship between the two choirs has spanned more than two decades. From their first encounter at international choral competitions to their close exchanges and cooperation as sister choirs today, they have set an example of friendship and engagement between young people in China and the United States. He noted that China-U.S. relations involve not only trade, technology, diplomacy and other important areas, but also face-to-face exchanges between the peoples of the two countries, especially young people, to promote mutual understanding and deepen friendship. President Xi Jinping has proposed an initiative to invite 100,000 young Americans to China for exchanges and study over the next five years, creating more opportunities for young people from both countries to engage with one another and deepen mutual understanding. Chen encouraged young people from both countries to cherish these opportunities, learn from one another and grow together, and use their youthful voices to write a new chapter in China-U.S. Friendship.
